Oriental weaver rugs’ history can be traced back at the beginning of human civilization when man learned to use animal skin as clothing and for other purposes which eventually led to the creation of the floor ornaments that we see today. However, there are no documented history of oriental rugs until the 17th century and it was only in the later part that oriental weaver rugs made its way to America where it was used for floor and wall coverings. These beautiful works of art became more in demand during the Victorian era because its colors and designs complimented Victorian furniture excellently.
Oriental weaver rugs are categorized according to the village of origin of its weavers. Throughout history, oriental rugs were divided into ethnic/geographic clusters: Persian, Turkish, Turkmen, Caucasian and Chinese, Kurdistan is now considered by many as the sixth cluster. From these clusters, rugs are then identified by the name of the village or city where it was made ( Daghestan, Kuba), ethnic weaving groups (Kurd, Afshar, Baluch), functions (asmalyk meaning for hanging, yastik meaning pillow)), design and motif.
On a simpler scale, oriental weaver rugs can be categorized as nomadic and nomadic weaving (made for personal or family use), village weaving (made in traditional styles made by settled people), and workshop carpets (made traditionally for commercial purposes).
Today, these genuine oriental rugs are produced in commercial workshops in Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, India and China. This hand-made crafts are beautifully designed to suit the needs and styles of modern living. There is one for you at Bella rugs so get it now.

Great Website! Personally I love our new carpet runner. It’s a very good first impression to people coming over to my house. And the carpets are very enjoyable to walk on! Never again do I have to feel the pain of walking on icy stairs in the morning. It also dampens the noise created from walking on it! I highly recommend everyone to get one! It’s likewise a great safety addition to your home. Trust me, falling on a stair with a carpet runner is much more pleasurable than falling on one without any!
